Report from Roskilde pilot testing released

In 2024, oasicare conducted our first pilot testing of our perineal-protection device in clinical practice at Sjællands Universitetshospital Roskilde GYN-OBS maternity ward. This seven-month collaboration with midwives and birth givers provided critical real-world insights that shaped our current device design and prepared us for the currently ongoing 100-woman study at Hvidovre and Roskilde Hospital.

Key findings from the trial:

Midwife-driven feedback for design works – Direct, continuous feedback from Roskilde midwives led to a device that fits into clinical workflows and showed to be safe for mother and baby.

Strong patient engagement – Birth givers showed high interest in innovations that improve quality of care, resulting in higher-than-expected participation.

Working together with midwives, for midwives has proven essential to creating a safe and usable device in the complex setting of birth – to ultimately improve women’s quality of care. We extend our thanks to the Roskilde midwives, especially Hanne Willer who led the testing, the participating birth givers, and hospital management for making this milestone possible.
